Emotions ran high at the funeral of a man, Abdul Kadir Nagazi, allegedly poisoned to death in Okene, Kogi State, as a family member publicly addressed the prime suspect, his wife, who is currently on the run.

Nagazi reportedly died after being rushed to the hospital, where doctors allegedly confirmed he had been poisoned.

His wife, Favour Odoba, has been accused of administering the poison following tensions over his decision to marry a second wife.

According to reports, the couple had been married for nine years without children. Abdul later took another wife, who reportedly gave birth to a baby boy last month. Family sources claim the development triggered a crisis in the marriage.

Narrating the events, a cousin of the deceased, Engr. Abdulrazak Abdulrazeez alleged that Favour invited Abdul to spend the night with her last Saturday.

Shortly after eating, he reportedly took ill and was rushed to a hospital, where he later died. Favour is said to have fled shortly after the incident.

Speaking in a video shared online from the funeral held on Monday, Abdulrazeez issued a stern message directed at the suspect, insisting she would eventually face justice.

In his emotional outburst, he accused her of destroying his cousin’s life and warned that running would not shield her from the consequences of her alleged actions.

Abdulrazeez also claimed that the deceased had invested heavily in his wife’s well-being, alleging that Abdul spent over ₦2 million to set up a large shop for her before his death.

In the same video, the grieving relative made broader remarks about marriage choices, comments which have since sparked mixed reactions online.

As of the time of this report, police authorities have not released an official statement confirming the cause of death or the status of investigations.

Favour Odoba remains at large, while the case continues to generate intense public debate on social media.

The Nagazi family has called for justice, urging law enforcement agencies to track down the suspect and ensure a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Abdul Kadir Nagazi’s death.
