Agnes Bessem Okafor, who claims to be a former wife of popular cleric Pastor Chris Okafor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, has opened another can of worms on the embattled cleric.
In an interview she granted from her base in the United States of America, Agnes accused Okafor of serial infidelity.
She claimed that the cleric impregnated her maid, called Salome, and also had a string of affairs with his church members and might be responsible for some of their children. She named some of them.
Her claims surfaced on Monday, December 29, 2025, in the midst of the highly publicised feud between Pastor Okafor and Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, who had earlier accused the cleric of emotional manipulation, broken marriage promises, and other forms of misconduct.
In her account, Agnes Bessem alleged that her decision to leave the marriage was because she could no longer bear to operate under the grand, deceptive life he was leading.
She claimed she packed out of the house after another episode of abuse. According to her, the cleric tried to prevent her from going, but she managed to leave through the back gate.
Agnes said Chris Okafor contested the custodianship of the children and won them, wondering how he could now turn around to claim they are no longer his children.
She said she married Chris when she was 18 years of age and gave him five children in five years. The ex-wife dismissed the cleric’s claim that she was impregnated by another person. She said it was all lies.
distressing and said she endured situations that ultimately forced her to walk away for her own well-being.
She also suggested that recent events had compelled her to finally speak out, insisting that silence was no longer an option.
Her comments have added a new layer to the ongoing saga, which began when Doris Ogala publicly accused Pastor Okafor of betraying her trust and later escalated into arrests, counter-allegations, and a dramatic public apology by the cleric.
During that apology, Pastor Okafor admitted to making mistakes but maintained that many of the allegations against him were false.
Reactions to Agnes Bessem’s claims have been mixed online. While some social media users have urged caution and called for all allegations to be properly investigated, others argue that the recurring accusations point to deeper issues that demand accountability.
As of the time of this report, Pastor Chris Okafor has not publicly responded to the latest allegations attributed to Agnes Bessem Okafor.
