Pastor Chris Okafor publicly apologises to Actress Doris Ogala
‘I’m ready for restitution’, he pleads

Founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, Pastor Chris Okafor, on Sunday publicly apologised to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, following days of intense controversy that has dominated social media and online discussions.
In a video that has since gone viral on X, the cleric was seen kneeling before his congregation during a church service, microphone in hand, as he admitted to making past mistakes and sought forgiveness from those he said he had offended.
The video was shared by Nigeria Stories and quickly gained traction across multiple platforms.
“Listen, we’re not joining issues. Mistakes have been made in the past, and I tender an apology to everybody,” Okafor said from the pulpit.
He went on to mention Doris Ogala by name, stating, “I am sorry to everyone I have offended, to Doris Ogala also. I say sorry and apologise to everyone that I’ve offended.”
The apology comes amid a heated public feud between the cleric and the actress. Ogala had earlier accused Okafor of engaging in an affair with her, making promises of marriage that were allegedly broken, and sharing explicit content.
She also claimed that the pastor offered her $10,000 to retract her allegations and suggested she had been hired by rival pastors to damage his reputation—claims Okafor has denied.
Despite disputing several of the allegations, the pastor maintained that he was willing to make amends.
“I’m ready to make restitution to anyone, anybody, any lady I have offended. I am sorry. Forgive me,” he said, adding that he was not perfect and had never claimed to be.
He further explained that his public apology was both personal and symbolic, noting that he was kneeling before the church and the wider public as an act of humility.
Pastor Okafor refrained from going into the specifics of his crime. He only said some of the things being said about him were not true.
According to him, counsel from senior Christian leaders influenced his decision to seek forgiveness and embrace what he described as a “new beginning.”
The apology has sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising the cleric for acknowledging wrongdoing, while others remain sceptical, insisting that the allegations should be fully addressed.
