Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has reacted to the public apology issued by her former lover, Pastor Chris Okafor, following days of intense controversy surrounding their highly publicised fallout.

On Sunday, December 28, the founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries publicly knelt before his congregation during a church service, offering an apology to Ogala and other women he claimed he might have offended in the past.

While admitting to making mistakes, the clergyman also maintained that “not everything” said about him in recent times was true.

Shortly after the apology went viral, Ogala took to social media to respond. In a post shared with her followers, the actress said she had forgiven the cleric but expressed concern over his insistence that all allegations against him were false.

“I forgive you,” Ogala wrote, adding, however, that she took issue with his claim that “not everything said was true.”

According to her, while forgiveness was possible, dismissing all her statements as untrue was unacceptable and did not reflect her lived experience.

Ogala’s reaction has further fuelled public interest in the saga, which began when she accused the pastor of emotional manipulation, broken promises of marriage, and other alleged misconduct.

The situation escalated into a full-blown social media battle, attracting reactions from celebrities, religious leaders, and members of the public.

Although Pastor Okafor stated during his apology that he was ready to make restitution and sought forgiveness as an imperfect human being, he also insisted that many of the claims made against him were exaggerated or false. This stance appears to be the core of Ogala’s dissatisfaction.

The actress’ response has been met with mixed reactions online. While some praised her for choosing forgiveness, others argued that accountability should go beyond public apologies, especially when serious allegations are involved.

As the controversy continues to unfold, many observers say the situation highlights broader conversations about accountability, power dynamics, and transparency within both religious and entertainment circles.
