Video clips purportedly linked to a recent United States military pounding of terrorists’ locations in Nigeria have begun circulating widely on social media platforms.

The airstrike was authorised by the US government following renewed attacks by extremist groups operating in parts of northern Nigeria. According to US officials, the operation targeted locations believed to be used by ISIS-affiliated factions accused of carrying out repeated attacks on civilians, including Christian communities.

The military action was approved by President Donald Trump in his role as commander-in-chief and was described by American authorities as a counter-terrorism measure aimed at weakening the operational capabilities of the militant groups and preventing further violence.

In the aftermath of the reported operation, several video clips emerged online, with users claiming the footage shows moments connected to the airstrike. However, the authenticity and exact origin of the videos have not been independently verified.

Neither the US government nor Nigerian authorities have officially confirmed the footage circulating on social media. Security analysts have cautioned members of the public to treat unverified online content with caution, particularly during ongoing military operations.

The development has continued to generate debate and reactions across social media as discussions persist over foreign military involvement in Nigeria’s security challenges.
