Asked to be cremated within 24 hours in his will
The East African tech community is in mourning following the sudden and tragic death of Evans Githua, the Chief Executive Officer of the renowned IT solutions firm Com Twenty One.
The fractured body of the late CEO was discovered on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at an apartment complex in the Kilimani area of Nairobi, Kenya.
According to preliminary reports from Kenyan authorities, Githua’s body was found behind the Alba Apartments on Kasuku Road.
Investigators stated that the CEO had checked into an Airbnb on the 14th floor of the building at approximately 8:54 PM on Tuesday evening.
Police forced entry into the room after finding it locked from the inside. They recorded harrowing details of Githua’s final moments.
Investigators reported finding blood stains in the apartment, extending from the bed to the washroom. They believe the executive had deliberately hurt himself, such as inflicting injury on his wrist with a scapel also seen in the apartment, prior to the fatal fall.
His lifeless body bore evidence of a fall from a height, such as fractures of the legs and trauma to the head.
His body has since been moved to the mortuary for a formal post-mortem examination.
Family members had reportedly grown anxious when Githua failed to return home, and his mobile phones went unanswered—a sharp departure from his daily routine.
While investigators are treating the case as a suspected suicide, the motive remains unclear.
