Social media is on fire with the scandal rocking the family of a popular hair vendor, Ada Igbo, whose husband, Chinedu, allegedly impregnated their housemaid, Doris, who was brought to live with them from the village.

The betrayal was particularly painful for Ada Igbo because she was only in Canada to deliver their fourth baby when Chinedu allegedly impregnated her househelp.

Ultimate backstab to Ada Igbo

She took to social media to spill the beans after she alleged that the family of her husband were trying to twist the narrative and paint her black.

Her story is being amplified by her childhood friend, Nenye Uzowulu.

According to Uzowulu, Chinedu had been sleeping with the diminutive girl under the same roof with his wife for three years. He allegedly went from sleeping with the girl with protection to throwing caution to the wind, hitting her unprotected, until she fell pregnant.

Doris reportedly became pregnant about the same time Ada was “battling between life and death” to deliver their fourth son.

“Some men go stain person white o!” Uzowulu lamented, sharing photos of the house help involved.

She revealed that while Ada was enduring the physical agony of childbirth, her husband was reportedly seeking solace in the arms of their maid.

“The maid was just the highlight”

While the pregnancy served as the final straw that broke the marriage, friends of the victim claim the union was a “living nightmare” long before the scandal broke.

“Impregnating the maid was just the highlight,” Uzowulu wrote in a viral post. “Ada, you really endured. Where did you draw your strength from? Your husband’s brother is going about painting you black without knowing shame will be their nightmare if you should open up.”

Friends describe Ada as a woman who “wore smiles every day” despite the internal turmoil, including allegations of systemic disrespect and other undisclosed “abominations” (Aru mere) within the household.

Social media divided

The scandal has sparked a fierce debate online. While the majority of netizens expressed outrage at the husband’s actions, some commentators offered a different perspective.

Social media user Michael Methodman weighed in, arguing that the blame should rest solely on the husband rather than the maid.

“Blame the husband who has made it a duty to enter every skirt,” Methodman posted, while simultaneously dismissing claims by some that such infidelity is a precursor to more heinous acts like incest.

The aftermath

Ada has since left the marriage, supported by a wave of “rooting” friends and family who say she is lucky to have escaped with her life and her four sons.

Many can still not believe the sad development, considering the beautiful lovey-dovey pictures the couple have posted online over the years.

They also have adorable family pictures with every member looking gorgeous and happy.

As the photos of the parties involved continue to circulate on “Blue Space” (Facebook), neither Chinedu nor Ada has directly addressed the scandal or their separation.

In follow-up posts, Ada Igbo alleged that their happy family pictures were all make-belief, as she was suffering in the hands of Chinedu.

Posting pictures of injuries to her finger and eye, she alleged that Chinedu beat her like she was a thief and nearly blinded her.

Following one of the beatings, she said she underwent eye surgery to prevent her from going blind in that eye.
