A man has used his car to run over a tricycle operator in a fit of anger after a minor dispute on the road in Mowe, Ogun State.
According to a Facebook user, Mercy Victor, the incident happened on Mercyland Road, Mowe, Ogun State.
According to her, trouble started when the tricycle operator brushed the suspect’s Toyota Venza while they were both using the road.
The suspect reportedly got out of his car to confront the tricyclist, and a violent altercation ensued.
The suspect, in a fit of rage, reportedly got into his car and sped towards the tricyclist, crushing him against a nearby house.
The impact of the collision was such that the pillar of the house crashed into the bonnet of the car.
The tricyclist was severely injured and was rushed to the hospital with the fear that he might not make it.
According to Victor, passersby and other commercial tricyclists gathered on the spot and severely beat the suspect within an inch of his life.
His girlfriend, with whom he was in the car at the time of the incident, allegedly took to her heels after the situation became violent.
The incident has generated lots of reactions, with many blaming the car owner for overreacting,
Others opined that the tricyclist must have said something hurtful to the motorist before he took the drastic action of overrunning him.
The case is under police investigation, with a formal release being awaited.
