Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua produced a commanding display on Saturday morning, stopping YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul with a knockout in the sixth round of their heavyweight clash in Miami.

Paul surprised many observers by surviving the early stages of the fight, but Joshua’s superior strength, ring intelligence, and experience ultimately overwhelmed the American, according to a report by The Athletic.

The turning point came in a dramatic fifth round, during which Joshua floored Paul twice amid a flurry of exchanges.

Anthony Joshua then closed the show in the sixth round, landing a sustained barrage of powerful punches that left Paul unable to defend himself, forcing the referee to step in and end the contest.

Speaking after the victory, Joshua wasted no time in calling out longtime rival Tyson Fury, urging him to move from online exchanges to an actual bout.

“Put down your Twitter fingers, put on some gloves, and come and fight me,” Joshua said.

Paul later disclosed that he suffered a broken jaw during the fight. However, he declined to name a potential next opponent, stating instead that he plans to take a break from boxing following the defeat.

The loss represents the second setback of Paul’s professional boxing career. Despite the result, the WBA-ranked No. 14 cruiserweight has recorded notable wins over former world champions.

Paul previously defeated a 58-year-old Mike Tyson in November 2024 during Netflix’s boxing debut and followed it up with a points victory over 39-year-old Julio Cesar Chávez Jr. in June this year.
