A viral video circulating on social media has shown the moment a young lady slapped an elderly man who allegedly groped her in a taxi in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The young lady said she drove to town, parked her car and got a cab to run an errand. The driver of the cab was an elderly man.
The young woman said the taxi driver complimented her wristwatch and bag initially, but soon progressed to fondling her exposed legs.
The young lady brought out her phone to record the action of the man who kept a hand on the steering wheel while using the other hand to grope the female passenger.
He is seen drawing up the gown of the young passenger while pretending to focus on the road ahead. The lady rearranged her dress and put her bag on her laps, but it was no deterrent to the roving hand of the man.
The young lady also shared a clip of where she confronted the man in the presence of an elderly woman.
As he denied the accusation of harassment, the lady disclosed that she had the video of the assault and would share it with the witness.
As the man made an attempt to speak, the young lady landed him a slap on the face.
She later uploaded the videos online, where they have gone viral.
The video has since drawn thousands of views and comments online, with many users weighing in on the incident.
One commenter on X wrote that the woman’s response was justified, saying the behaviour shown in the video “should not be tolerated” and urging passengers to report inappropriate conduct by drivers.
Another user urged greater awareness of personal safety during rides, especially when travelling alone.
Yet another one wrote: “Even if she’s on bikini, you have no right to touch a woman that is not yours. Now your daughter age mate tear you hot slap because you no get self control.’
