Popular Kenyan FM Broadcaster, Festus Amimo dies in hotel room with female staff

Veteran KBC Mayienga FM broadcaster, Festus Amimo, has died in a hotel room in Nairobi, allegedly while having a private moment with a junior female staff member of the organisation.
An official police OB report indicated that Amimo was in the company of a woman identified as Collata Ann Ngesa, who is reportedly a junior staff member at the national broadcaster.
Police said Ngesa raised the alarm after Amimo suddenly collapsed during their private engagement inside the hotel room.
Hotel management immediately alerted security personnel, who rushed to the scene and found the media personality unresponsive.
Medical professionals called to the room confirmed shortly afterwards that the popular broadcaster had passed away.
Crime scene investigators processed the room before transferring the body to the City Mortuary pending a full postmortem examination.
Preliminary findings suggest that Amimo may have suffered complications linked to an alleged overdose of “blue pills,” though detectives emphasised that the cause of death remains under investigation.
Ngesa has already recorded a statement as part of routine inquiry procedures.
The incident has sparked intense conversation online, particularly because Amimo often portrayed the image of a devoted husband and family man on social media.
A separate video circulating online shows affectionate moments between the late journalist and his wife, further fueling public scrutiny of the circumstances surrounding his final hours.
Police say a full autopsy report will determine the precise cause of death as investigations continue.
