Terrorists have released a disturbing photograph showing the abducted wife and daughter of a slain Kaduna Anglican priest, Ven. Edwin Achi, being held at gunpoint, intensifying public outrage and renewed calls for urgent action from security agencies.

The victims, Mrs. Sarah Achi and her daughter, were kidnapped alongside the priest, Ven. Edwin Achi, after gunmen invaded their residence in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State on October 28, 2025.

According to earlier reports, the attackers demanded N200 million ransom and threatened to kill the hostages if the family failed to meet the deadline.

Tragically, the abductors executed Ven. Achi before the ultimatum expired. They later uploaded a picture of the slain clergyman and his wife on his personal Facebook page, an act that drew nationwide condemnation.

The situation worsened on Wednesday when the terrorists released a new image of Mrs. Achi and her daughter alive but visibly distressed, with a gun pointed at them.

The photo was shared by a family member, identified as Avril, who appealed for wider media attention to pressure authorities into taking action.

Speaking on X while addressing journalist Rufai Oseni, Avril wrote:

“Please keep pushing the news that Ven. Edwin Achi’s wife, Sarah Achi, is still in captivity. Their captors recently uploaded a picture of her and her daughter with a gun pointed at them. Their demands are incoherent at this point.”

Sharing the heartbreaking image online, he added: “This is not a country.”

The kidnapping and murder have added to growing concerns about escalating insecurity in Kaduna and other parts of northern Nigeria, where communities continue to grapple with armed banditry, mass abductions, and deteriorating rural safety.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies have not issued an official update on efforts to rescue the surviving hostages.
