The Ghana Education Service (GES) has suspended the headmaster of Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School (SHS), Mr. Joshua Vidzro, for allegedly having sexual relations with hIs female students.
Trouble started after a final-year student became pregnant and named Mr Vidzro as the father of her unborn baby.
The teenager claimed she fell out with the headmaster after she refused to terminate the pregnancy as he instructed.
She alleged that the headmaster gave her specific instructions on what to do to get rid of the pregnancy, but she decided not to do them.
Mr Vidzro thereafter allegedly threatened the lady with severe consequences for her disobedience.
The embattled headmaster refuted the allegations, but his matter was made worse when another student, a 14-year-old, stepped forward to allege that the headmaster had also slept with her.
The 14-year-old claimed that she accompanied another student who was sick to the hospital. She alleged that Mr Vidzro and another woman were with them on the trip.
The victim claimed that on their way back, the woman dropped off, leaving her and the headmaster.
The student claimed that Mr Vidzro bought her food and then took her to an apartment, which he said belonged to him and had carnal knowledge of her there.
Narrating how it happened, the victim said that after she finished her food, she stood up to dispose of the pack, and the accused directed her to the kitchen.
She alleged that when she returned, the man had locked the doors, was half-naked and carried her into the bedroom while she allegedly shouted for help.
The victim claimed the accused removed her clothes and forced himself on her.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) decided to take action against the headmaster in view of the negative testimonies.
Mr Vidzro was interdicted (suspended) pending the investigation of the various allegations against him.
It would be recalled that several teachers and headmasters have been suspended in Ghana of late in respect of having inappropriate relations with their students.
In one instance, a student who was tired of being called for sex by her teacher tipped off a fellow student to hide in an adjacent room and record the action as evidence.
The video was later uploaded to the internet, leading to the suspension of the senior teacher.
