UK policewoman dismissed for groping colleagues, trying to kiss boss during night out

A 29-year-old police constable, PC Pamela Pritchard, has been dismissed from North Wales Police after a misconduct panel found her guilty of groping colleagues and attempting to kiss a senior officer during a night out.
According to evidence presented during the hearing, Pritchard—who was intoxicated at the time—twice touched a male colleague’s groin, grabbed a female officer’s breasts, and attempted to kiss an inspector, who had to pull away.
She was also reported to have made inappropriate sexual comments, including calling another officer a derogatory name after telling him she wanted to sleep with him.
The panel ruled that her behaviour amounted to gross misconduct, stating it breached the force’s standards of authority, respect, and courtesy.
Force says misconduct too serious for anything less than dismissal
Assistant Chief Constable Chris Allsop said the actions were serious enough to justify her immediate dismissal, rejecting appeals from her representative for a lesser penalty.
“The panel finds the conduct is of a level that could justify dismissal and is therefore at the level of gross misconduct,” Allsop stated, adding that retaining her in the force would pose a “significant risk of reputational harm.”
He noted that while officers can make mistakes, Pritchard’s behaviour crossed professional and ethical boundaries.
Details of the Incident
The misconduct occurred during a social outing at Caernarfon Rugby Club in March 2024.
One officer, identified as PC B, told the panel he was groped at the bar when Pritchard suddenly grabbed his genitals over his clothing.
He said she later repeated the act outside in the smoking area, sat on his knee, placed her hand around his neck, and kissed him without consent.
He described her behaviour as if she believed she had “carte blanche to do what she wanted.”
Another officer, PC A, said Pritchard approached her from behind, slid her arms under her armpits, and grabbed her breasts.
Although Pritchard was questioned under caution following the incident, she did not face criminal charges.
Pamela Pritchard : ‘I don’t recognise myself’
During the hearing, Pritchard became emotional, insisting she had no memory of the events and was “mortified” when told what had happened. She apologised to her colleagues, including Inspector Gareth Parry, saying:
“I am really sorry. I am so sorry.”
She said the allegations and subsequent suspension—only nine months into her probation—left her feeling suicidal and labelled a “sexual predator” by colleagues.
She maintained that none of her actions were intentional or sexual, arguing that any contact must have been accidental. She also claimed CCTV showed the kiss with PC B appeared consensual.
Despite her denials, the panel concluded that the allegations were proven on the balance of probabilities, leading to her dismissal without notice.
