A man who identified himself as Brian Dennis has alleged that his brother’s life in the United Kingdom has been ruined by his wife after she falsely accused him of rape.
Dennis said the wife accused her husband of rape after fearing that he would remove her name as a dependent from his visa application.
According to him, the genesis of the trouble in the couple’s marriage was infidelity.
Dennis said his brother found out his wife was chatting with her ex-boyfriend two days after they got married, even though they had courted for six years before they got married, without the man finding any trace of infidelity in her.
He said his brother married his wife last December and relocated to the UK with the woman shortly after.
In September, the wife gave birth in the UK, but the husband was not fully confident the baby belonged to him, going what he discovered after their marriage.
The husband reportedly secretly went for a DNA test, and his fear was confirmed: the baby was not his.
He reportedly confronted his wife with his findings, and she allegedly confessed that she had an intercourse with another ex-boyfriend back in Nigeria during the week of her wedding.
Dennis said his brother consulted with many people, including his pastor, who advised him to make peace.
He said the distraught man decided to forgive his wife on the condition that the baby was sent back to his father in Nigeria because he was not prepared to nurture another man’s child under his roof.
The wife reportedly did not object to the condition her husband laid down.
However, on 27 November 2025, policemen turned up at the couple’s apartment to arrest the husband for rape.
The wife had allegedly reported to the police after being coached by her ex-boyfriend in the UK, named Desmond.
Dennis said the particulars of the rape charge were that he had sexual intercourse with an adult person of age 18 and above who did not give full consent. He said the wife claimed that while he gave consent for sex, she did not give consent for him to ejaculate inside of her.
As a result of the allegation, the husband was reportedly suspended from his place of work and his DBS was updated to show that he was facing a rape charge.
Dennis said this meant that his brother can no longer secure employment in most establishments.
He lamented that his brother is back to menial jobs such as providing labour at warehouses and similar establishments.
Dennis said even after the woman suffered a pang of conscience and withdrew the case from the police, the dent on her husband’s record had remained till now.
