Veteran singer Innocent Idibia, also known as 2Face or 2Baba, has called out his family for trying to frustrate his wife, Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru.

In a now viral video, 2Face said he is a grown man with the right to be with whoever he chooses. He condemned what he described as destructive interference by his family.

The artist urged members of the public and those close to him to stop fueling rumours and hostility against his wife, warning that the controversy had spiralled dangerously.

According to him, false accusations and family meddling have put Natasha and their privacy at risk.

“I am a grown man, and I believe I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with,” 2Face said.

He added that what his family claimed was efforts to “save” him ended up destroying him and damaging Natasha’s reputation.

What led to the outburst

The current tension followed months of public speculation about 2Face’s relationship with the Edo lawmaker, after he announced his separation from his long‑time wife Annie Idibia earlier this year.

The controversy reportedly peaked after incidents that many interpreted as alarming — including a heated exchange during a livestream interview, social media posts by his former manager, and claims that Natasha has faced harassment, threats, and character assassination.

In response to mounting pressure, 2Face pleaded with the public to “cease fire,” calling the situation “dangerously volatile” and urging fans and family members to stop sensationalising his private life.

Family reacts

While 2Face defended his relationship, his mother, Rose Idibia, previously urged the lawmaker to distance herself from her son, claiming he was not in the right state of mind amid the divorce proceedings and needed space to heal.

That reaction sparked more debate online: some sympathise with his family’s concern, while others see it as unwarranted interference in his personal choices.
