A young lady has been found dead in a hotel room she shared with a yet-to-be-identified man in a popular hotel in Ore, Ondo State.
The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon, November 26, 2025. The young woman and her male companion had checked into the hotel hours earlier without an incident.
Hotel staff also confirmed seeing the couple together later.
However, they became curious when they did not hear from either of them after calling out and knocking a few times.
The hotel staff later forced their way into the hotel room to find the lady lying motionless on the bed.
The popular hotel is said to be located along the busy Ore–Okitipupa Road and known as a regular stop for travellers and locals.
A source told Hope Newspaper that the man who brought the lady to the hotel room gave his name as Sodiq Ganiyu.
Ganiyu was still said to be in within the hotel when the discovery of the dead lady was made, but managed to flee in the ensuing commotion.
A police source told Hope Newspaper that the late woman’s body had been deposited at the Ore morgue.
The source also said that a preliminary examination of the body did not reveal any external injuries.
A full autopsy has reportedly been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
