
A 13-year-old Russian schoolgirl has reportedly killed her mother, Svetlana Cheglyakova, after she criticised her unhealthy browsing behaviour and seized her phone.
Cheglyakova, 46, tongue-lashed her daughter for staying up late, browsing and playing with her phone, according to reports.
The girl did not like it and waited for her mother to sleep before slitting her throat with a sharp knife.
She proceeded to cut her own wrist before setting fire to the family’s flat in St Petersburg, Russia, according to the police.
The teen came up with a story of an Unknown person breaking into their flat, overpowering them and wreaking extensive havoc.
Investigators doubted her story, and a probe of her game account showed that she had played out a sequence similar to the tragic incident in one of her online games.
Under persistent questioning by detectives later, she confessed that she grabbed a knife and stabbed her mother in the neck following bitter arguments about her web browsing.
Two of the accusations she levelled against her mother were that she never allowed her to hang out with friends and monitored her every step.
She also accused her late mother of constantly bullying her> She claimed that on the night of the tragic incident, her mother met her awake at night, “yelled at her, and slapped her.
The young lady’s TikTok featured streams from the popular game Roblox, according to the police.
Investigators also found that the girl’s game character had once danced for a long time in a burning room.
On another occasion, she carried an injured player in her arms.
It is believed that she simulated the murder of her own mother and the subsequent attempt to cover up the crime.
The mother had been the only one caring for the suspect after her mother and father split, according to reports..
She is currently receiving treatment in a hospital, while the Russian Investigative Committee has prepared a criminal case for murder against her.
However, her age falls short of the age of criminal responsibility in Russia, meaning that she cannot be tried over her mother’s de@th.
