Two parents of abducted students of St Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri village, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State, reportedly died of a heart attack.

This was disclosed by the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, Most Rev Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, in Minna.

The media aide of the Bishop, Daniel Atori, in a statement, said a male and female parents have so far been reported dead following the abduction.

The Bishop, who is the chairman of the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), identified the male parent as Anthony Musa.

The cleric, whose church owns St Mary’s Catholic School, disclosed that Musa suffered a massive heart attack shortly after the St Mary’s abduction and gave up the ghost.

He disclosed further that the identity of the female parent, who also died, was yet to be determined.

“The man, Anthony Musa, died of a heart attack, but the female we don’t have the details yet because we couldn’t get the family”, Bishop Yohanna said.

It would be recalled that the Federal Government announced the release of the 24 schoolgirls earlier abducted in Kebbi State.

The details of how they were rescued are not known. Nothing has also been said about their captors.
