A businessman, Abubakar Dan Gaske Mai Nasara, has been stabbed to death by his brand new wife,  Aisha Muhammad, in Katsina State.

The incident happened on Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The news was broken by X user, Deji Adesogan, today. He did not state the cause of the rift that led to the drastic action of the wife.

He wrote:

“GONE TOO SOON 💔💔💔

Tragic incident has been reported in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.  Abubakar Dan Gaske Mai Nasara, a Jibia resident, was allegedly killed by his wife Aisha Muhammad just three days after their wedding. The incident occurred on Sunday 23 November 2025 while the husband was asleep at home. Reports suggest his wife attacked him with a knife, leading to his untimely death.”

He attached a picture of the couple on their wedding day. The picture has, however, led many netizens to suggest that the woman must have been forced into the marriage, as it is the tradition in the north.

The picture shows the bride frowning at the camera while standing beside her husband.

An X user who called himself Dan Katsina wrote: “This tragedy shows how dangerous forced or pressured marriages can be. When two people are joined without genuine consent, understanding or compatibility, the situation can become unsafe for everyone involved. The marriage is just three days old”.

@LoveLove4104 wrote: “ Arranged marriage, especially when the woman isn’t in support, shouldn’t be encouraged.”

@kasshoggi: “This picture shows her disgust already…

Why force someone into a marriage? Then, this is not the reason why she should kill him. That’s murder. So sad.”

@benniett: “The last husband killer was pardoned, later had her sentence reduced after outcry by Nigerians. What’s stopping the next one?”

@theojovi: “From the look on her face in this picture, it is obvious she’s not happy marrying him; she was probably forced . Murder is not the way , she will face the law🤦”

@HaroonBkr3715: “Most parents are the problem to society for how many times will they be saying this÷, don’t force your children into marriage with someone they never loved but they will be repeating the same mistake all the time.”

@Ahmedsaleem: “There is absolutely no justification for the murder of the man. However, it is important to note that forced or arranged marriages are archaic practices. Events like this can easily snowball into serious crises with the potential to cause harm.”

@FumbiSea: “This uhna forced marriage for North go get consequences…. Their women are not the fools they use to be… A lady deserves to marry who she loves”

@KnightOfLag0s: “She was likely forced to get married to him against her will, it usually never ends well.”

@musajidda: “Parents should not force marriage on their children, as these things continue to happen, it is now very important we look at the root cause of this similar happenings, the answer is simple – absence of love.”
