The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, disrupted proceedings at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, preventing the delivery of judgment in his terrorism trial.

Trouble started when Justice James Omotosho dismissed several of Kanu’s applications, including his request to submit a final written address.

During his last appearance in court, Justice James Omotosho had waived the requirement for final written submissions.

He ruled that the court would rely solely on the arguments and materials already put before the court in the course of the trial.

The judge’s action followed Kanu’s refusal to open his defence or submit a written address after several opportunities.

Justice Omotosho then made it clear that he would be delivering judgment today, November 20, 2025.

However, today, Kanu expressed extreme displeasure at the judge’s decision, arguing that it denied him a fair opportunity to present his case comprehensively.

Justice Omotosho then reminded Kanu that he still had the right to appeal the court’s decision if he did not like it.

This infuriated Kanu, who shouted repeatedly, “You don’t know the law… Don’t touch me… God will punish you now and forever.”

With the outburst, the courtroom became chaotic, preventing the judge from proceeding.

When the IPOB leader resisted all entreaties to calm him down, he was physically removed from the courtroom by security officers so the judgment could proceed without him..
