A man sprang a surprise on a soldier at a military checkpoint in Agbowa community, along Ikorodu expressway in Lagos State, snatching his rifle and shooting him dead on the spot.
The incident reportedly happened at Adeogun Bridge in Agbowa, Ikorodu, on Monday, November 17, 2025.
A video of the incident made by a resident shows the victim lying on his back in a pool of his blood on the side of the road.
He is breathing and moving his head.
Those in the video can be heard saying that the man is still alive and can be saved. However, none of the residents made any attempt to move him.
Another uniformed military man can be seen moving around in the background of the video.
One of the residents can be heard explaining to the other that a madman snatched the military man’s rifle.
A police source also told Sahara Reporters that an insane man snatched the soldier’s rifle and shot him dead.
The assailant was reportedly apprehended by the deceased’s colleague and shot dead, according to residents.
The story has attracted lots of comments, with many querying how a madman could know how to operate an AK-47 rifle.
