Lt Yerima was not attacked, but stopped at checkpoint for covering plate number (Video)

The police in Abuja have denied claims of an assassination attempt on one Lt. Ahmed Yerima at the NNPC junction on the Kubwa Expressway.
The police said Yerima was only stopped by police men on a stop and search mission because his number plate was covered and his windows were fully tinted.
It would be recalled that some publications (Not Microsecondnews) reported that there was an assassination attempt on the young officer in Abuja.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command have dismissed the report as “false and grossly misleading.”
The Police in a statement today, Monday, November 17, said Yerima was stopped on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 6:15 p.m. by a patrol team conducting a routine stop-and-search operation.
The police said the officer’s ash-coloured Toyota Camry was heavily tinted and had its number plate covered.
The command said the team politely asked the occupant of the car to identify himself and explain why his vehicle’s details were covered.
The police claimed that the occupant refused to identify himself and instead made some calls, following which three of Yerima’s colleagues showed up.
THE NAVAL OFFICERS REPORTedly cordially identified the occupant of the vehicle as their colleague and recorded video footage of the encounter before leaving.
The police said the patrol team allowed Yerima and his colleague to go once he was identified.
The commond expressed surprise that the issue was “maliciously” twisted and turned into a case of phantom assassination attempt.
