More information has emerged on the case of the lady, Mrs Blessing Ngozi Chibuike, also known as Nelly Gold, who cried on social media that her husband removed her name from his Certificate of Sponsorship to get her out of the United Kingdom.

Mr Chibuike, known as Ogbanje Real on TikTok, has spoken up to defend himself, disclosing that his wife reported him to his employer and that he was relieved of his job.

In a live TikTok session, the estranged couple confronted each other, with the wife claiming she only called to ask her husband’s employers to give him days off so they could iron out their issues.

The husband said it was a lie, insisting that the wife reported him at his place of work, leading to his sack. He claimed to have screenshots to back up his claims.

It would be recalled that Nelly Gold came online a few days ago to allege that ‘the man I called my husband’ removed her name from his COS, leading the Home Office to tell her to leave the UK or submit another application with a new COS.

Many netizens dragged the husband online for being vindictive and wicked until he also came online to explain his side of the story.

How Ogbanje met Nelly Gold or Blessing

Ogbanje explained that he was in Europe for eight years after he travelled through Libya, and sojourned in many European countries without making any serious progress.

He recalled that his mother called him to inform him of an opportunity to live legally in the UK, and he came to Nigeria to use that opportunity.

He said his mother then insisted he must marry so that life would be easier for him in the UK.
Ogbanje said Nelly was introduced to him by a neighbour, and he linked up with her.

Two weeks later, they had their traditional wedding and on July 1, 2023, they became husband and wife.

He recalled that the first red flag he saw was that his wife told him to get a particular gown for her traditional wedding, or she was no longer interested in the marriage.

Ogbanje said he found this curious because her entire family could not boast of N100,000 when he met her. He said he raised his concern with his parents, and they encouraged him to go ahead with the marriage.

Trouble in the UK

HE said they travelled and had their first issue when Blessing secured a warehouse job and was earning about 500 pounds per week.

He claimed he sat his wife down and explained to her that they borrowed a lot of money to stabilise in the UK and would need to repay the loans.

Secondly, he said he explained to her that he needed a car to easily get a job in the UK, and they had no money to buy the car.

According to him, his father sent a series of loans from Nigeria as loans for them to buy the car and survive when he had no job in the UK and that they had to be paid back.

He said he added his wife’s money to the money sent by his father, and he deposited it for the car and insurance.

Ogbanje said when his wife woke up and realised what had happened, she abused him and his family and insisted she would not be working for her money to be taken away from her.

The issues between the couple degenerated into violence, and the man hurt the wife. He claimed it was a mistake, but his wife claimed he deliberately stabbed her around the eye, and there was blood all over the place.

Ogbanje said he called the police himself and explained to them that it was a mistake. The wife also said she covered him up, but the police still arrested and detained him.

They later released him, and they continued living together until she gave birth, and another big issue happened.

The last straw

The hospital reportedly told them they needed to leave their one-room apartment for a bigger place for the arrival of their baby.

The husband said the money required was much and he had to call home for assistance again, and his father came through for them, sending some money, which they added to the money they had to pay for a bigger accommodation.

The husband claimed that his taking money from their joint account to defray the loan was the last straw as his wife started making trouble with him.

The wife, in her own narration, also confirmed that it was the third deduction made from her salary that led to the final crisis.

She claimed she called her husband’s workplace to ask them to give him some days off to allow them to sort out their differences.

The husband, however, claimed she was lying and that she actually reported him to his employers, claiming that he was abusing and exploiting her.

HE claimed his office asked him to go, and he decided to relocate to Nigeria.

Ogbanje also did not deny instructing his lawyer to formally write to his employers that he had left the UK and was no longer with Blessing, aka Nelly Gold
