A Kenyan man, Johnson Mose, living in Crystal, Minnesota, has lost his life just after completing his dream house in his home country in Kisii, Kenya.
Mose reportedly died on Sunday, November 9, in an accident. His death has thrown his friends, family, and the broader diaspora community into mourning.
The deceased, known as Maigama among his friends, recently posted a picture of his completed mansion in his hometown.
In a post on Facebook, his friend, Edward Darwins Omari, lamented that Moses’ life was cut short just days after he proudly completed building his dream home in Kisii.
He was a keep-fit enthusiast and posted content to motivate others to live healthy lifestyles.
Mose was born and raised in Nyamecheo, Ibeno in Nyaribari Chache, Kisii County, in southwestern Kenya in the former Nyanza Province.
He relocated to the US and has been able to make something of his life supporting his young family and his loved ones back home.
It was gathered that the deceased held a live session on TikTok a day before he died in the tragic accident.
His friend Edward Darwins Omari paid him tribute on Facebook:
“It’s with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news of the sudden passing of my friend Johnson Mose, known to so many of us as the incredible “Maigama.”
Maigama and I first connected in the most modern way possible: the vibrant, noisy interaction corridors of TikTok. We started as strangers sharing comments and reactions on videos, a little online banter that quickly grew into mutual respect and genuine curiosity. That digital acquaintance soon lighted into a real, meaningful friendship that extended far beyond the screen. We moved from comments to DMs, and eventually, to countless phone calls and shared plans for the future.
I will forever cherish the memory of him constantly pushing me to be my best self, particularly with our Gym workouts. His encouragement was relentless, and I am stronger today because of his encouragement to work out. We had so many projects planned and dreams we won’t get to see through.
Right now, the entire America Kisii Community, and more precisely the community in Minnesota, is mourning the loss of a great friend who will be sorely missed.
My deepest, most heartfelt condolences go out to his beloved wife and his two young sons. No words can ease your pain right now, but please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We share in your grief and hope you can find strength and comfort in the love that surrounds you.
Maigama’s legacy of strength, kindness, and motivation will live on. He will be deeply, deeply missed.
Rest in peace, my friend.”
