‘The officer was unruly, his boss was scammed”- Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka (video)

Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has spoken in defence of his boss over the altercation he had with a military officer, Lt. AM Yerima.
It would be recalled that Wike had a shouting match with the military officer on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, when he tried to access a building site being guarded by the military officer.
An angry officer called Yerima a fool and used other insulting words during their confrontation.
Speaking on Channels TV today, Olayinka described Yerima as “unruly and arrogant”.
Olayinka claimed that Yerima’s boss, a former Chief of Naval Staff, was scammed in a land deal in Abuja and, instead of seeking help, resorted to using military force.
Olayinka said the disputed land was not allocated to the former Naval Chief but to a company that now partitioned it and resold it to others.
The media aide gave the name of the company which was originally allocated the land as Santos Estate Limited. He said the land was allocated for a park and recreation.
Olayinka said the company tried to convert it for commercial purposes contrary to its original use.
He said the company could not do anything on the land because the site is a road corridor where there could not be a building.
Olayinka said that the company formally wrote to the FCT Development Authority (FCTDA) in 2022, seeking approval to convert the land’s purpose to commercial use.
He speculated that the company, in anticipation of the Minister’s approval, began partitioning the land to resell to buyers, including the former Chief of Naval Staff.
Olayinka said the former Chief of Naval Staff was scammed and he had realised that he was scammed.
He said instead of the man seeking help, he resorted to using military might.
‘Wike’s aide faulted Yerima for claiming that he was following orders, asking if he would follow an order to shoot someone illegally.
