Bishop David Abioye of Conquerors Global Assembly has shared a testimony of how he took the news of his wife being diagnosed with HIV.

The revered cleric disclosed this when speaking on the subject of healing on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

Bishop Abioye said the incident happened during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when a routine test indicated she was positive for the dreaded virus.

He said he refused to accept the verdict and demanded another check, while embarking on fervent prayer.

The cleric told his congregation that he had caught a scriptural revelation and declared that the virus could not be in his wife’s body.

He declared that God’s word is powerful because by the time they reexamined her, they could not find any trace of the virus.

He said healing required a combination of faith and action, stressing that confronting illness is not a passive process.

Abioye declared that healing is not for gentlemen. “You don’t just wait for sickness to go; you actively fight it through faith and prayer”, he said.

He charged his congregation to believe in God’s power to save even in what appears to be a hopeless case, admonishing that miracles often come when one refuses to surrender to fear.

Abioye stated that the experience strengthened his marriage, as it brought them closer together and reminded them that God is the ultimate healer and protector.
