A member of the House of Representatives of the United States of America, Riley Moore, has blasted China for commenting on America’s decision to designate Nigeria as a country of concern.
Moore said the Asian country has no right to dictate America’s foreign policy.
It would be recalled that a Chinese official criticised U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat of military action in Nigeria if the Nigerian government failed to stop the persecution of Christians by Islamic fundamentalists.
Mao Ning, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Wednesday described China as a comprehensive strategic partner of Nigeria.
She said China firmly opposed any country using religion and human rights as an excuse to interfere in another country’s internal affairs or thre@tening other countries with sanctions and force.
Reacting to the comments, Moore dismissed China’s position nd called the country a communist autocracy.
He insisted that Trump was absolutely right to defend Christians who are suffering terrible persecution, and even martyrdom, because of their faith
He said the communist country would not dictate America’s foreign policy. He said the country would also not be lectured to by a Communist autocracy that recently arrested 30 Christian pastors for their faith.
Moore also accused the Asian country of throwing ethnic minorities in concentration camps, suggesting that they lack the moral ground to criticise America.
The Nigerin incident has thrown up growing tension between the two super powers.
