A Badagry commercial motorcyclist, Amos Afesomu, declared missing by his family, has been found mutilated in a bush at Obakobe, Ado-Odo, Ogun State.

The body of the late Okada rider was found seven days after his family reported him missing.

Police reports indicated that the decomposing body of the father of six was found on Thursday, October 30, 2025, by police investigators.

Amos Afesomu, a resident of Vetho-Ajara, Badagry,  bid his family goodbye on his way to work on Friday, October 24.

He later told his wife he was taking a passenger to Ado-Odo in Ogun State from Erekiti.

After the deceased dropped off the passenger, he called his wife around 7:30 p.m. to tell her he was on his way back.

When his wife checked his progress about 8:00 p.m., his phone was off. More calls to the number gave the same result. He never returned home.

The wife contacted his younger brother, Samuel Afesomu, who reported the case to the police the next morning.

The police later asked for the details of the motorcycle the deceased rode to Ado Odo.

Days later, the police invited Smuel to the station, where they showed him his brother’s motorcycle and three suspects who had been caught allegedly trying to sell it.

The suspects named a certain “Banga” as the one who gave them the motorcycle.

The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti, Ikeja, took over the case for a more thorough investigation.

The new handlers of the case traced and arrested an elderly man in Ajara, Badagry, who was in possession of a mobile phone linked to the case.

On Thursday, the police nabbed the main suspect, Banga in the Makoko area of Lagos State.

The family was happy that the arrest of Banga would lead them to where Amos Afesomu was kept.

Their hope was, however, dashed when Samuel received a devastating call telling him the body of his brother had been found somewhere around Ikogale in Ogun State.

Samuel described the sight as horrifying. According to him, his brother’s body had been cut into pieces, with his arms, eyes, and private parts missing.

The brother of the deceased commended the police, especially the Badagry Division, for a job well done.

He called for the completion of the process by bringing the culprits to book.

Samuel called on members of the public to support the family in getting justice for the slain Afesomu.
