Lady disgraces boyfriend for proposing to her at her best friend’s wedding reception (Video)
A viral video has shown the moment a lady named Ella slapped her boyfriend for proposing to her at the wedding reception of her best friend.
The video shows Ella giving a toast at the wedding of her best friend. Unknown to her, her boyfriend has taken a position on a bended knee behind her.
The moment the boyfriend kneels behind Ella, the DJ takes it as a cue to start the famous Ed Sheeran love banger “Perfect”.
The song interrupts the toast Ella is giving. She looks startled and lost. It is played so loudly by the DJ, who apparently is playing to the script handed him by the boyfriend.
Ella tries to continue her toast, but the noise of the music is too loud, and the voice of the MC can be heard telling her to go back to her seat, while a bouncer pries the microphone from her hand.
She is obviously embarrassed and turns around to go to her seat, only to find her boyfriend behind her.
Ella can be seen querying the man, but what they are saying cannot be heard. The next moment, she lands a very hard slap on the man’s face.
He looks stunned and opens his mouth as the lady walks away. The packed hall gasped in shock.
The man’s friends step in to save him from the embarrassment by spraying him with money.
The video has generated over three million views since it was posted online by @brianofowerri.
Many viewers blame the man for attempting to steal another man’s thunder. They argue that it was classless to propose to a woman at another person’s wedding.
Some also pointed out that the management of the surprise was poor, with the lady getting publicly humiliated just because her boyfriend wanted to propose to her.
“It takes a lot of nerve to stand in front of a mammoth crowd to give a toast at a wedding reception. Just imagine standing up and giving the toast after several private rehearsals, only for you to be rudely interrupted and for a bouncer to snatch the microphone from your hand. That was a disgraceful handling,” wrote a viewer.
Others blamed the lady for overreacting. They pointed out that, regardless of the provocation, the lady should have just walked away instead of assaulting her man in public.
