A tricycle operator who went to a brothel to relax after the day’s work has been killed by a stray bullet at Badore, Ajah, Lagos State.
The tricycle operator reportedly stepped out to get bottled water from a nearby shop when some men stormed the area, shooting indiscriminately.
One of the bullets being sprayed around hit the tricycle operator, who fell but was not noticed by anyone.
Residents reportedly scampered in various directions when the shooting commenced, with many shutting their doors and remaining indoors.
It was in the morning of the shooting that residents discovered that someone had been hit in the shooting the previous night.
It was too late as the man was already stone dead.
A resident told The Punch that the shooting was done by men believed to be cultists who visited the area to eliminate a rival.
He said those who sighted the men when they arrived could not give a specific number, but could only recount that they arrived in a blue Toyota Corolla.
The source further said the men did not wait and were shooting as they were driving along before one of the bullets hit the tricycle operator outside the brothel.
The Lagos Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed that the remains of the tricycle operator had been taken to the morgue.
She also disclosed that the family of the deceased was contacted and his body was handed over to them for burial.
