Some Asaba youths attacked a man until he fled after viciously attacking his wife and wounding her in the community in Delta State.
A viral video shows the man in a pair of jeans and a T-shirt repeatedly flogging his wife over an unknown issue.
The wife was carrying their baby, but it was not a deterrent for the angry husband as he collected the baby from her before flogging her with a long twig he yanked off a tree.
A man filming the incident can be heard complaining loudly that the man was beating his wife mercilessly.
At some point, the husband turned against the cameraman who was railing at him. He engages in a brief struggle with him.
Other community members rushed at him, with some slapping and some kicking him. Realising that he was outnumbered, he took to his heels.
Later in the video, the wife can be heard pleading with the community members to stop beating her husband.
With the man out of the way, the wife entered a white Mercedes-Benz with her baby. With close-up filming, it emerged that she was bleeding from the nose.
