An American mum is facing over 40 charges after allegedly forcing her daughter aged 11 to perform filmed sex acts on video.
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office announced that the mother (name withheld) was arrested at her home in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Monday, October 13, after a 38-year-old man was caught viewing child pornography sent to him by the woman.
The suspect allegedly sent at least 14 explicit videos filmed between March and April, showing her daughter performing various sex acts, including b£stiality with the family’s pet dog.
Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, in a video statement shared on Facebook, said the acts the mother encouraged her daughter to engage in were so graphic and grotesque.
He described it as the worst case of child abuse, and “gross sexual abuse of a young girl by her mother to satisfy an adult with a perverse craving for watching kids engaged in s£x acts,” the Sheriff said.
Gualtieri speculated that the mother and the 38-year-old found with the explicit videos likely met online. He said an investigation was ongoing to determine if money changed hands and if the videos were sent to any other people.
The police are satisfied that the rest of the victim’s family wasn’t aware of the ongoing abuse and that other children were spared from the abuse.
Gualtieri said the victim was currently in the custody of her father, but with the active involvement of the Department of Children and Families and others.
The sheriff lamented over a spike in child pornography in recent times, adding that his office had booked 84 people on more than 900 charges of possessing or distributing child pornography since the start of the year.
He said this was very horrible as it was ruining kids’ lives.
The accused mother was booked in the county jail and was arraigned in court on Tuesday, October 14.
The victim’s father was also in attendance.
The judge ordered that there should be no communication between the mother and her traumatised daughter.
