Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has officially crossed over to the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC) from the party that installed him, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The governor made the announcement in a live broadcast on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
He said he decided to leave PDP and join the All Progressives Congress after long reflection.
According to him, the decision was part of his efforts to transform Enugu and restructure the state’s political landscape.
He claimed the decision would constitute a break from the past and shape the future of the state.
“This concerns our values, how we organise ourselves politically and how we secure the future of our project and our people,” he said.
Mbah said leadership sometimes demands painful decisions in the service of higher principles and goals.
He said the time had come to make a bold choice to determine the destiny of the people of the state.
