Popular UK-based Nigerian entertainment couple, the Bukunmi Adelanis, have relocated back to Nigeria after three years’ sojourn in the United Kingdom.

Bukunmi, with the stage name Bukunmi Preacher, and his wife, Iffy, announced that they were done with the UK and would be returning to their home country, Nigeria, a couple of days ago.

Many thought it was one of their pranks and jokes, but it has now emerged that they mean business.

The couple posted a video of their arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

They also shared clips of their reunion with family members in Nigeria.

The couple followed the ‘Japa’ trend in June 2022, barely eight months after their marriage.

Bukunmi in a video said he and his wife packed their bags and departed from their home in Ogudu and landed at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport on June 30th 2022 for their sojourn in the UK.

By then, Bukunmi had established himself as a stand-up comedian, very popular in Christian circles and recommended for shows where jokes were expected to be clean and acceptable to a wide spectrum of audiences.

The comedian who is an IT professional, had before becoming a fulltime show business personality, had worked in the bank.

After relocating to the UK, Bukunmi returned to regular, white-collar jobs to support his young family.

His wife pursued educational advancement and ultimately bagged a UK degree.

The couple now believe they have seen all there is to see in the UK and do not wish to remain there for the rest of their lives.

In a video posted on their Facebook channel, the couple said the UK is structured to take from immigrants much more than it gives them.

The husband said the two of them decided that they would not allow the UK to take them hostage and treat them like they had no choice.

“By the time you settle down and begin to think of doing something for yourself, you would have exchanged the best time of your life for the UK system”, Bukunmi said in the video captioned “We left the United Kingdom.”

He said they made a decision not to be locked in the battle of survival to make ends meet, which entails that either partner works in the day while the other works at night, so that their young children are not stranded.

The comedian clarified that they were not saying it was bad, but they did not want that for their family.
