A young woman, Megan Isherwood, who did not know she was pregnant has shocked the world by delivering a surprise baby.

Doctors at Blackburn Hospital suspected a case of appendicitis when Isherwood presented with acute pain in the stomach.

There was no suspicion of pregnancy because the patient did not know she was pregnant and a test ruled that out.

The doctors ordered ultrasound and CT scans and received a shock of their careers when they saw a little head and foot; their patient was with baby.

A quick arrangement was made to take her to Burnley hospital where there was midwifery service and delivery could be better taken.

She did not get there before she delivered a baby named Jaxson who weighed 4.6lbs on Sept 9.

Reflecting over the incident, Isherwood, who is from Lancs in Blackburn said she could not believe what had just happened.

She insisted there was no baby bump or any pregnancy symptoms.

The proud mom said she would not change anything, but only wished Jaxson had let her know sooner he was on his way.

Megan Isherwood calls Jaxson ‘Miracle’

“He is a miracle,” she declared.

On the day she gave birth, Isherwood said she woke up at 4 p.m. feeling ill and weak.

She said she asked her friend, Gabbie Rose, 26, to drop bring a bottle of Coke for her as she was suspecting she was low on sugar.

When her friend arrived with the Coke, she did not like the sight of Isherwood and convinced her to go to the hospital.

“I have a high pain threshold, so she knew I had something wrong with me,” she said.

Her friend then called 111 and an ambulance arrived within an hour.

The paramedics examined her and concluded she must be suffering from appendicitis. They thought the symptoms checked out—pain on the right side of her body, high heart rate and nausea.

Megan Isherwood was taken to Blackburn hospital at 5:30 p.m. and was immediately admitted to the intensive care unit.

She was waiting to see a doctor when blood reportedly gushed out of her and soaked the bed.

About 15 doctors reportedly crowded around out trying to figure out what could be wrong with her.

According to her they then decided to do a CT scan as well as an ultrasound to rule out pregnancy. That was when they found out the truth.

The hospital thereafter arranged for her to be moved to Burnley hospital where they have a midwifery.

Jaxson in a hurry to arrive

However on the way, the paramedic reportedly told her to to let them know if felt the need to push.

“As soon as she said that, it was like something clicked and I just needed to push.

“The next thing you know they told me ‘congratulations it is a boy’.

She said she was shocked and flustered, barely able to believe what had just happened.

Her anxiety was not completely over anyway.

The baby came out at 33 weeks, and just minutes after he was born, he turned blue and stopped breathing.

The paramedics noticed immediately and sprang into action, managing to bring him back to life before they reached the hospital.

The baby was rushed to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Isherwood was moved into the birth suite.

She was told that she and her baby had an infection and were diagnosed with sepsis. Luckily for the two of them, they made full recovery after some dose of antibiotics.

Jaxson reportedly stopped breathing again a few days later and was brought back around by doctors once more.

Isherwood remarked that the baby did not make himself known before arrival, but ahs since made himself known since birth by ‘dying’ twice.

“He is such a brave boy,” she said.

September 25, both mother and baby were discharged and have been living happily ever since.
