Controversial former senator, Elisha Abbo, has reportedly surrendered himself to the police after a petition was written against him alleging he slept with a minor.
The petition also alleged that the senator attempted to rape the 16-year-old sister of the 13-year-old victim.
The senator is also facing a charge of criminal intimidation of the two minors and their parents.
The petition was written by the law firm of D.I. Aiyedun & Co. to the Inspector General of Police, with the attention of the Deputy Commissioner of Police – Gender, Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).
The 13-year-old minor was allegedly lured into Abbo’s residence at Katampe Extension in Abuja by a female accomplice in June.
Once there, the minor was reportedly undressed by the suspect, who thereafter allegedly applied baby oil on his privates before having carnal knowledge of the girl.
The petition stated that the minor recounted what happened to her father, who had chastised her for entering a stranger’s house. He reportedly took no action.
Abbo allegedly tried the same trick with the older sister of the victim, but she resisted and managed to escape.
The embattled politician has now reportedly turned himself in at the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja.
Senator Abbo has been linked to a couple of scandals of a sexual nature in the past. The first one was his viral physical assault of a sex toy shopkeeper in Abuja.
The senator accused the salesgirl of insulting him and slapped her. The altercation was filmed by the shop’s CCTV camera and later went viral.
He was again accused of sleeping with a married woman sometime later.
The married woman came out to own up to the incident and begged for forgiveness from her family.
