The Federal High Court, Warri, Delta State, has ordered the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector-General of Police to halt the ongoing enforcement exercise of the tinted glass permit.
The interim order was issued in Suit No. FHC/WR/CS/103/2025: John Aikpokpo-Martins v. Inspector General of Police & Nigeria Police Force, when it came up today, October 3, 2025.
The judge directed the police authorities to respect judicial processes pending further proceedings in the matter.
The leader of the legal team representing the applicant, Kunle Edun, SAN, confirmed the development.
He noted that the directive was a major step in ensuring that the rule of law was upheld. The lawyer further stressed that the essence of the substantive issues in the case must be preserved, hence the interm order.
It would be recalled that the police began the enforcement of the tinted glass permit on Thursday, October 2.
