A Nigerian lady, Gloria Ayeni, has shared how she started her new life in Canada with profound sorrow after her boyfriend in Nigeria sent her a message dumping her.
Ayeni said the sad message came a few days after she landed in Canada. She shared a screenshot of the sad breakup message dispatched from Nigeria to her by her boyfriend.
The message was dated August 17, 2025, and shows that the boyfriend addressed Gloria as “Babe”.
He then delivered his piece but quickly added that it was not her fault, but his own fault.
The man claimed it was a very difficult moment for him and also a difficult thing for him to do.
“With everything inside of me, I am thoroughly sorry that we got to this point. This is entirely on me,” he wrote.
In her caption, Ayeni said the heartbreak hit her hard within a few days of her arrival in a foreign land.
She also added that within the same period, she tasted her first dose of racism in Canada.
“God abeg, please be a very strong shield 🙏🏾. They said what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, I’m holding unto”, she wrote.
Nigerians have since been rallying around her. Some women also shared their experience. One, with the handle, Burna’s Main Chick, also claimed that she dumped her boyfriend not long after visiting him in Canada.
She claimed she found him chatting with other women.
Nita Anni consoled Gloria by saying she was in the same situation.
Others prayed for Gloria to overcome the heartbreak soon and move on with her life.
