A 75-year-old Indian widower, identified as Sangruram, has died a day after he married a 35-year-old woman.
The incident happened in Kuchhmuchh village in Jaunpur district, Uttar Pradesh, in India.
The late Sangruram had been living alone since he lost his wife about a year earlier. He recently told his family he wanted to remarry.
His family reportedly discouraged him from remarrying at his age. The deceased, however, went ahead with his arrangement regardless.
The widower formally tied the knot with a pretty lady identified as Manbhavati, who is 40 years younger than him.
The couple proceeded to have traditional rites to bless their union in front of their friends and family.
The couple reportedly spent the night together discussing how they would run their home post-marriage.
The wife said her late husband told her she would be responsible for the household needs, while he would be responsible for their children when they came.
Unfortunately, Sangruram suddenly fell ill in the morning and was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
His wife became a widow before she had had a chance to be a wife for 24 hours.
Her next major assignment was planning her husband’s burial.
The burial ceremony was going to be immediate, but Sangruram’s distant relatives insisted on sighting his body before anything could be done.
The late bridegroom was subsequently laid to rest.
