A pastor and farmer, Oputeh Monday, has been gruesomely murdered and decapitated in the Umuebu community, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.
Fifty-nine-year-old Pastor Monday was attacked by yet-to-be-apprehended assailants on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
The deceased’s son Joshua Oputeh, 26, reported to the police that his father had left home early for his farm along Amai/Umuebu farm road.
He said his father asked them to meet him on the farm later in the day on a motorcycle.
Joshua said that as they were approaching the farm, they heard gunshots and ran into the bush, where they found that his father had been killed and his head chopped off.
Security expert, Zagazola Makama, said Police men from Obiaruku Division followed Joshua to the spot and evacuated the mutilated corpse to Medisar Mortuary, Obiaruku.
The police as also introduced regular patrols in the area as they conduct an investigation into the killing.
