Crime waves in London continues to alarm residents after news emerged that a schoolgirl, aged 15, was raped in a public park on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
The crime was committed at Poole Park in Dorset in the evening.
The name of the victim is withheld for legal reasons, and the circumstances of the assault are not fully known.
The police, however, said a 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault.
The man is said to have travelled over 120 kilometer from his home in the Carlshalton area of south London to the crime scene.
The police told newsmen they received a report that the girl had been raped by a man she had met earlier in the evening.
They raced to the scene and cordoned off an area near the boating lake at around 10 pm.
The police have promised to carry out a detailed investigation into the incident, while specialist officers have been assigned to support the victim.
They also announced that increased patrols had been ordered in the area. A police spokeperson called on anyone with with concerns to please speak with an officer.
This incident has contributed to the concerns among London residents about the rise in crime waves across the city in recent times.
