A Nigerian teenager, Imayen Ekanem, has been arrested after she posted on her Snapshot that those attending a vigil held for late conservative commentator, Charlie Kirk in St. Johns County, Florida would be shot.

Ekanem was traced and arrested on Sunday following the upload of the threatening message on her Snapchat.

It is not clear exactly why she made the post, but it appears she was just airing her grievance that the event is falling on her birthday.

Her post suggests that she did not want the sad event happening on a day dear to her. There is no evidence she meant what she wrote. There is also no evidence any weapon was found in her residence when officers conducted a search.

Nonetheless, she has been slammed with a felony count of written threats to kill or do bodily injury or conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism.

St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office arrest report shows that Ekanem made the self-incriminating post after finishing her shift at Zaxby’s on Tyler’s Way.

According to officers, Ekanem owned up to making the post on her private Snapchat story.

She had written “unt unt not on my bday” and “whoever goes is getting shot up.

It is not clear how many Snapchat users saw the post. However, one of those who saw it called the police to report Ekanem.

She was subsequently arrested and booked into the St. Johns County Jail with no bond set.

Ekanem allowed officers to search her cellphone, which was used to make the post, according to court records.

The vigil in question was held without an incident at Veterans Park in St. Johns County on Sunday.
