A British councillor has bowed to pressure after her comments blaming American conservative activist, Charlie Kirk, for his own assassination.

It would be recalled that Kirk was shot in the neck by a single bullet while speaking about mass shootings at a university campus in Utah yesterday.

While the world reacted in outrage to the murder of the married father of two, Fiona Wild, an independent councillor in Burnley, showed no sympathy.

She posted that she did not condone violence, but she thought the victim made himself a target.

Wild said Kirk brought the incident on himself, adding. “So good riddance to not a very nice man!”

She also commented that America needed to get rid of the other t*t now.

The post attracted wide condemnation from many who thought it was insensitive and callous.

Many called for her resignation with immediate effect. Among such was the leader of the council, Jamie McGowan, who called on Wild to resign immediately.

Providing an update, Burnley Council confirmed today that she had resigned from her position.

The council said Wild was serving as an independent councillor at the time of her resignation, and therefore did not represent any political party group within Burnley Council.
