There has been another national grid collapse, culminating in a nationwide blackout. This happened on Wednesday, September 9, 2025.
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company disclosed on their X (Twitter) handle on Wednesday that the outage happened at 11:23.
AEDC said the collapsed impacted electricity across all its franchise areas.
The company said efforts were ongoing to restore the grid, which would then lead to restoration of power to customers.
AEDC thanked its customers for their patience and understanding.
The national grid has collapsed a record 100 times in 10 years.
Experts have canvassed for the revamp of power infrastructure in the country. Legacy equipment in the sector requires overhaul to facilitate enhanced power supply.
