The husband of the American lady, Kristin Cabot, who was caught smooching her Chief Executive Officer during a Coldplay concert, has broken his silence.
Recall that Cabot, 52, the Chief People Officer at Astronomer, was caught in July in a warm embrace with the CEO of the company at the time, Andy Byron, at the concert.
The Kiss Cam randomly picked them out of the mass of people at the stadium and beamed them on the huge screen at the concert.
The moment they realised what was happening, the high-flying HR executive and her boss recoiled in horror.
Their unexpected reaction led Coldplay’s vocalist to joke that the couple were either super shy or were cheating.
The scandal cost the couple their plum jobs at the Astronomer.
The husband of the disgraced HR chief, Andrew Cabot, has now spoken up, saying that he and his wife had actually drifted apart before the incident.
The businessman and CEO of Privateer Rum said there were cracks in their marriage, and they were separated.
He told the news men the two had amicably agreed to go their separate ways several weeks before the Coldplay concert.
However, no official divorce step had been taken until after the scandal broke out. Mrs Cabot took the step to formally dissolve the union on August 13, less than a month after her affair with her boss was exposed.
Initial reports had suggested that Mr Cabot was taken by surprise by his wife’s infidelity.
Reporters who rushed to their home to interview him were, however, not able to get much as he had just returned from a business trip to Japan.
