Veteran comedian, Atunyota Akpobome, better known as Ali Baba, has reportedly been kicked out of his mansion in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Legit NG reported that the house situated at 324A Akin Ogunlewe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, was repossessed from the comedian and his company XQZMOI  TV.

A team of Federal Court bailiffs reportedly besieged the house following a writ of possession signed on August 15, 2025.

Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa had, on 31 July 2025, dismissed a suit filed by the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) and given a judgment ordering the repossession.

Ali Baba reportedly paid N220 million for the property in 2021 after AMCON seized it from its owner.

The original owner of the property was Harold Expansion Industries Nigeria Limited. AMCON claimed the company owed N617 million in loans obtained from the defunct Bank PHB (now Keystone Bank).

The company, however, refuted the claims, stating that they had already repaid the loan after it was restructured and consolidated.

They claimed that the repayments were made directly from their account.

Their lawyer, Benjamin Olayiwola Sadibo, insisted the mansion was sold in error.

The judge, Lewis-Allagoa, ordered a reversal of possession of the property at 324A Akin Ogunlewe Street to  Harold Expansion Industries.

The judge said AMCON was unable to prove its case, particularly, failing to provide the company’s statement of account.

He also said that the agency failed to file a defence in response to the counterclaims made by Harold Expansion Industries.

The judge then granted the prayer of the company for the reversal of the possession.
