The Bayelsa State Police Command has paraded the three young ladies involved in the stripping and gang-beating of their mate, named Nancy Wilfred, over an affair with a man.
Nancy was severely brutalised and stripped naked by her friend named Kadi, and two accomplices, now identified as Miracle and Becky.
One of the girls stomped on the victim’s private parts and inflicted injuries upon her after Kadi appeared to accuse her of sleeping with her boyfriend.
Kadi, in a video that came out after the incident, denied that she took the action because of a man. She claimed it was because the victim insulted her grandmother.
It would be recalled that the wife of the state governor, Dr (Mrs) Gloria Diri, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, requested the police to arrest Kadi and her accomplices.
She said this when the victim was taken to her at the Government House, Yenagoa. She also announced that she would take over the victim’s education up to the university level.
Today, all three ladies involved in the crime were paraded at the Bayelsa Police Command headquarters in Yenagoa.
The ring leader of the assault, Kadi, introduced her fellow suspects as Miracle and Becky.
When asked why they assaulted Nancy, she claimed they were all high on alcohol.
Kadi said Becky had first beaten Nancy over an issue, but this was not recorded. She also said she had an unresolved issue with Nancy.
Kadi claimed that another friend, called Favour (not yet picked up), encouraged her to also beat her over the alleged issue.
According to her, Nancy had peddled rumours against her that she used ‘kayamata’ (charms) on her ex-boyfriends.
