Late billionaire leaves his money for footballer Neymar, whom he never met

A billionaire in Brazil has bequeathed his fortune to footballer Neymar, even though he never met him while alive.
The footballer was allegedly given a whopping £846 million by the late billionaire whose name was not provided.
Brazilian outlet RIC reported that the will was formalised at an office in Porto Alegre on June 12, 2025.
Two witnesses were said to be present at the ceremony.
The billionaire was said to be single and without any children. Relevant courts in Brazil will not scrutinise the documents and give clearance.
The footballer has yet to comment on the report. Neymar has not publicly commented on reports surrounding the fortune.
Experts opined that the will could be subject to legal complications even if it is approved.
On why Neymar was the late billionaire’s choice, it was stated that the late billionaire was very fond of the footballer.
The deceased reportedly respected the footballer for keeping his family very close to him. Local media reports said the deceased loved the footballer’s close relationship with his father.
Neymar’s closeness to his father allegedly reminded the deceased of his own father.
The footballer is currently in Brazil, playing for his boyhood club Santos. A move to Al-Hilal, a Saudi Professional League club, fell through in January.
