A trending video has captured the moment a middle-aged woman was caught after she stole the phones of worshippers in a church.
It is unclear how she was able to collect as many as three phones during the church service without anyone noticing.
At the close of service, people were exchanging greetings and leaving when someone said his phone was missing.
Others quickly checked their own phones, and two more people reported that they could not find their phones.
The church members quickly raised suspicion about the only first-timer in the service.
By this time, she had already left the church and was at some distance from the church when two ushers ran after and caught up with her.
They pleaded with her to return to the church because they did not want to embarrass her. She greeted them with smiles to disarm them and make them doubt their suspicions, but the ushers were insistent on her accompanying them back into the church.
Inside the church, they told her what had just happened, which they claimed had never happened before.
They told her they would just like to inspect her bag, and she would be free to go afterwards.
She reportedly resisted, but the church members forcefully collected her handbag and found the missing phones there.
The woman broke into tears in shame.
